नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघका अध्यक्ष चन्द्र प्रसाद ढकालले देश मा आर्थिक सुधारको आधार तयार हुँदै गरेको बताउनु भएको छ ।
ढकालले सो कुरा सोमबार महासंघको सचिवालयमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय वित्त निगमका दक्षिण एशियाका क्षेत्रीय निर्देशक इमाद फाखौरीसँगको भेटघाटका क्रममा भन्नु भएको हो ।
भेटमा ढकालले सरकारले नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघले दिएको सुझावहरूलाई लिएको र नयाँ पुस्ताका सुधारहरू अघि बढाएको जानकारी गराउनु भयो । ढकालले सरकार, निजि छेत्र र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विकास साझेदारहरूले हाते मालो गरेरआर्थिक वृद्धिलाई प्रवर्द्धन गर्न सकिने बताउनु भयो ।
ढकालले दुई संस्थाहरूले स्थानीय र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय बजारमा व्यवसायहरूको प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता सुधार्न मिलेर काम गर्न सक्ने पनि उल्लेख गर्नु भयो । उनले महासंघ र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय वित्त निगमले संयुक्त रूपमा प्रकाशित गरेको ‘नेपालमा निजी क्षेत्रको अवस्था’ शीर्षकको प्रतिवेदनको सहकार्यबारे पनि जानकारी गराउनु भयो । ढकालले उक्त प्रतिवेदन व्यवसायिक समुदाय र नीतिनिर्माताहरूका लागि महत्त्वपूर्ण साबित भएको जानकारी दिनु भयो ।
ढकालले नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघ अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय वित्त निगम नेपाल टोलीसँग मिलेर निजी क्षेत्रमा (ESG -Environment, Social, and Governance) कार्यक्रम ल्याउन कार्यरत रहेको पनि बताउनु भयो । ढकालले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय वित्त निगमको विशेषज्ञता र मकहासंघको स्थानीय व्यवसाय समुदायसँगको सशक्त सम्बन्धले नेपालको आर्थिक परिदृश्यमा परिवर्तन ल्याउन महत्त्वपूर्ण प्रगति गर्न सकिने विश्वास व्यक्त गर्नु भयो ।
भेटको क्रममा फाखौरीले सार्वजनिक–निजी साझेदारीहरूमा थप जोड दिन आवश्यक रहेको बताउनु भयो । फाखौरीले यसै समयमा नेपालले केही आर्थिक चुनौतीहरूको सामना गरिरहेको भए पनि देशका लागि धेरै अवसरहरू पनि रहेको बताउनु भयो ।
Foundation for economic reforms being laid: Dhakal
Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has stated that the foundation for economic reforms is being laid in the country.
Dhakal made this remark during a meeting with Imad Fakhoury, Regional Director for South Asia at the International Finance Corporation, at the FNCCI Secretariat on Monday.
In the meeting, Dhakal informed Fakhoury that the government has taken the suggestions given by the FNCCI and has moved forward with new-generation reforms. Dhakal stated that the government, the private sector, and international development partners can work together to promote economic growth.
Dhakal also mentioned that the two institutions could work together to improve the competitiveness of businesses in local and international markets. He also informed about the joint collaboration between the FNCCI and the International Finance Corporation on the report titled "State of the Private Sector in Nepal." Dhakal informed that the report has proven to be important for the business community and policymakers.
Dhakal stated that the FNCCI is working with the International Finance Corporation Nepal team to introduce ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) programmes in the private sector. Dhakal expressed confidence that the expertise of the International Finance Corporation and FNCCI's strong relationship with the local business community can make significant progress in transforming Nepal's economic landscape.
During the meeting, Fakhoury stated that there is a need to place more emphasis on public-private partnerships. Fakhouri said that while Nepal is facing some economic challenges at this time, there are also many opportunities for the country.
