११२ औं अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय श्रम सम्मेलनमा अध्यक्ष ढकालको सम्बोधनः अध्यक्ष ढकालद्वारा लगानीको आव्हान (२०८१/२/३०)

नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघका अध्यक्ष चन्द्रप्रसाद ढकालले सुमधुर बन्दै गएको श्रम सम्बन्ध, सरकारले थालेको आर्थिक सुधार एवं भारत र चीनबीचको रणनैतिक बजारका कारण नेपालमा लगानीको सम्भावना बढेको वताउनुभएको छ । ११२ औं अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय श्रम सम्मेलनलाई बुधबार सम्बोधन गर्दै अध्यक्ष ढकालले उक्त धारणा राख्नु भएको हो । 

यही जुन ३ देखि स्वीट्जरल्याण्डको जेनेभामा चलिरहेको सम्मेलनमा अध्यक्ष ढकालले रोजगारदाताको प्रतिनिधत्व गर्दै सम्बोधन गर्नुभएको हो । नेपालका रोजगारताहरु श्रमिक कर्मचारीको सामाजिक सुरक्षाप्रति संवेदनशील रहेको र दुवै पक्षको पहलमा असल श्रम सम्बन्ध विस्तार भैरहेकाले यसलाई दिगो राख्न औद्योगिक विस्तार आवश्यक रहेको अध्यक्ष ढकाललको भनाइ थियो । 



सामाजिक सुरक्षा लैगिंक समानता र दिगो आय आर्जनको अवसर बढाउन सम्मेलनमा सहभागी रोजगारदाताहरुलाई नेपालमा लगानी बढाउन पनि आग्रह गरे । भारतसंग १० हजार मेगावाट बिद्युत खरिद सम्झौता भएको र बंगलादेशसंग पनि यसबारे छलफल भैरहेको बताउँदै अध्यक्ष ढकालले नेपालमा उत्पादित बिजुलीको बजार सुनिश्चित भएकाले यस क्षेत्रमा लगानी गर्न आग्रह गर्नुभयो । 

यसैगरि भारत र चीन जस्ता धेरै जनसंख्या भएका उदीयमान अर्थतन्त्रमा सर्वसाधारणको क्रयशक्ति बढेकाले नेपालका हिलस्टेसनहरुमा पर्यटकीय पूर्वाधार विस्तारको सम्भावना रहेको पनि बताउनुभयो । 


सूचना प्रविधि, कृषिजन्य उद्योग लगायत उत्पादनमूलक क्षेत्रहरु पनि नेपालको लाभका क्षेत्र रहेको उहाँले बताउनुभयो । लगानी सहजीकरणका लागि सरकारले द्विपक्षीय व्यापार सम्झौताको खाका तयार पारेको, लगानी सहज बनाउने कानूनमा सुधार हुँदै गएको र दोहोरो कर हटाउन नीति अंगिकार गर्ने सरकारको योजना रहेको पनि सम्मेलनका सहभागीलाई जानकारी गराउनुभयो । 

सम्मेलनका क्रममा अध्यक्ष ढकालले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय श्रम संगठन (आइएलओ) र रोजगारदाताहरुको अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय संगठन (आइओइ) का उच्च पदस्थ अधिकारीहरुसंग पनि भेटवार्ता गर्नुभएको थियो । 



FNCCI President Dhakal addresses 112th International Labour Conference: Calls for investment in Nepal (2024 /6/12)

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), addressed the 112th International Labour Conference on Wednesday. He argued that Nepal's improved labour relations, recent economic reforms, and its strategic location between India and China have significantly increased investment opportunities in the country.

Dhakal, representing employers at the conference, pointed to the growing cooperation between employers and employees regarding worker social security. He stressed the importance of industrial expansion to solidify these positive developments.

To further promote social security, gender equality and opportunities for sustainable income generation, Dhakal urged employers attending the conference to consider investing in Nepal. He highlighted the recently signed 10,000 MW power purchase agreement with India and ongoing discussions with Bangladesh, emphasising the assured market for Nepal's hydropower production.

Dhakal also identified potential for tourism infrastructure development in Nepal's hill stations, citing the growing purchasing power of consumers in large, emerging economies like India and China.

He went on to mention other beneficial sectors for investment, including information technology and agro-based industries.  Dhakal informed the conference about the government's efforts to facilitate investment. These include drafting bilateral trade agreements, reforming laws to simplify investment procedures, and implementing a policy to eliminate double taxation.

President Dhakal also held meetings with senior officials from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) on the sidelines of the conference.
