The "Establishing Employer led Labor Market secretariat (ELMS)" Project invites qualified and eligible candidates for application to following positions. The project is led by FNCCI in collaboration with CNI, FNCSI, HAN and FCAN with support from the Dakchyata Project, funded by the European Union and managed by the British Council. The project's objective is to create a model for Employer Associations to conduct harmonized demand side LMI activities. 

Position: NSCO  Expert 

Minimum Requirement 

  • Master degree in relevant field with minimum five year experiences of working in Agriculture sector, (preference will be given to candidate who have experience in Skill development, TEVT sector and entrepreneurial work)
  • Strong understanding of Nepal Standard Classification of Occupation (NSCO) system
  • Coordinating different public and private sector stakeholders involved in the NSCO development process
  • Working in NSCO development initiatives and/or developing employer led occupational standards
  • Conceptual understanding of the development of employer led occupational classification standards
  • Utilizing NSCO and/or employer developed occupational classification standards for LMI and to inform training programmes design and skills assessment 
  • Expertise and knowledge of the linking of LMI to NSCO
  • Understanding of ‘international family of economic and social classification’ including ISCO
  • Delivering employer workshops and meetings focusing on the development of NSCO and employer led occupational standards
  • Developing reports and databases capturing NSCO and/or employer led occupational standards for wider dissemination
  • Team leadership and project management

Experience (desirable)

  • Professional experience of working in the Construction, construction and Tourism (CAT) sectors 
  • Understanding of the national context of skills needs in the CAT sectors in Nepal
  • Experience of working in or with Nepal’s Employer Associations and/or CTEVT sector 
  • Delivering skills training, including in the CAT sectors
  • Speaking confidently on public platforms in sharing technical information
  • Links to international National Occupational Standards initiatives and networks
  • Contributing to labour market development programmes
